Overview

Weir Welding Company Inc is a structural steel fabricator based in Carlstadt, New Jersey, focusing on reliable workmanship and timely project execution for commercial and industrial construction projects. The Structural Steel Estimator / Project Manager is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and managing projects, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural steel and related construction work.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and price labor and materials.
  • Obtain vendor and subcontractor quotes.
  • Prepare bid proposals.
  • Schedule and coordinate fabrication and installation.
  • Monitor costs and budgets.
  • Ensure work meets safety and quality standards.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, engineers, suppliers, and field teams.

Requirements

  • Cost Management and Budgeting skills.
  • Construction Estimating and Project Estimation skills.
  • Strong Communication skills.
  • Experience with structural steel, welding, or general construction.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards.
  • Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and project management tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
  • Prior experience in a similar estimator/project manager role.
