Overview

The City of Chandler Public Works & Utilities Department is seeking a qualified individual to join their team as a Utility Mechanic Senior at the Water Production Remote Facilities. The role involves performing skilled preventative maintenance and mechanical repair duties at various water and wastewater facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled preventative maintenance and mechanical repair duties at water and wastewater facilities.
  • Work at remote potable field sites, aquifer storage and recharge sites, and reclaim water turnouts.
  • May serve as a lead worker and lead projects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience in pump repair or plumbing.
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • ADEQ Grade 1 Water Treatment Certification upon hire/promotion.
  • ADEQ Grade 1 Water Distribution Certification upon hire/promotion.
  • Pass a respirator fit test within six months of hire/promotion.
  • Obtain a 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification within six months of hire/promotion.
  • Obtain an ADEQ Grade 2 Water Treatment Certification within one year of hire/promotion.

  • Regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period.
  • Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
