Overview

The Manual Machinist performs specialized machining work with irregular shapes and alloys, including stainless steel. Responsibilities include machining, light finishing, and various assignments using knowledge of machining concepts and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual machinery including milling machines, lathes, and drill presses.
  • Rework parts according to prints and instructions.
  • Maintain production by completing scheduled work on time.
  • Inspect components and assemblies to ensure proper form, fit, and function.
  • Complete all required documentation including routings and inspection reports.
  • Document time entry into the computer and keep shop floor packets current.
  • Maintain inventory of material and hardware.
  • Assist maintenance with machine part repairs.
  • Work with engineering to develop fixtures and process sheets.
  • Assist in other areas of the production department as needed.
  • React to assembly process situations to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
