Overview

WSP is seeking a Full-Time Early Career Mechanical Engineer for their Philadelphia, PA office, starting in Summer 2027. The role involves participating in projects with the Property & Buildings Team, providing technical assistance for mechanical systems in infrastructure and construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data for project development.
• Perform basic professional mechanical engineering work related to research and inspections.
• Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and load calculations.
• Verify site characteristics and assist with engineering, design, and construction issues.
• Generate accurate documentation and specifications using electronic systems.
• Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company resources.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience.
• Excellent research skills with an analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with design/build processes and mechanical system laws.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing and office software.
• Familiarity with design software like Revit and AutoCAD.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety.
