Overview

Smurfit Westrock is a leader in sustainable packaging, dedicated to creating efficient paper and packaging solutions. As a Maintenance Technician II, you will ensure the reliability and performance of manufacturing equipment through maintenance and repair activities.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability.
  • Inspect equipment and systems to identify hazards, defects, and maintenance needs.
  • Support installation, modification, calibration, and repair of production equipment.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints for repairs.
  • Assist in training and mentoring Maintenance Technician I employees.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and document work activities.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial mechanical, electrical, or maintenance-related roles.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance-related machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work overtime and respond to maintenance emergencies.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to lift, climb, bend, reach, and perform physical duties associated with industrial maintenance.
