Job Description

Overview

Join Valmet's team of experts as a Field Services Engineer to support the installation and maintenance of large-scale manufacturing equipment in the Pulp & Paper industry. This role requires technical skills, a willingness to travel, and the ability to lead projects at customer sites.

Responsibilities

  • Perform process and field services for Pulp & Energy Solutions equipment.
  • Conduct start-ups and commissioning services.
  • Carry out inspections and condition assessments.
  • Manage maintenance and service agreements.
  • Perform tune-ups for process and emissions.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Plan and execute outages.
  • Advise on construction for rebuilds, upgrades, and capital projects.
  • Provide emergency assistance and root cause analysis.
  • Prepare and submit detailed service reports.
  • Collaborate with Field Service Engineers, Product Engineers, and Sales personnel.
  • Develop relationships with key customers and conduct service sales visits.
  • Provide hands-on supervision of equipment maintenance and installation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of hands-on mechanical experience.
  • Working knowledge of electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, rigging, pipefitting, millwrighting, and machining preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and diagrams.
  • Experience overseeing projects and managing subcontractor crews.
  • Ability to travel by air or automobile up to 200 days a year.
