Overview

Abbott is a global healthcare leader that provides life-changing technologies across various healthcare sectors. The Operator I role involves performing assembly, welding, testing, and repair operations on medical devices under general supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles, welds, solders, and x-rays medical devices using microscopes and applicable tools.
  • Locates and corrects problems by examining x-rays and performing visual inspections.
  • Repairs and tests units using computerized test equipment.
  • Examines medical devices after molding to locate defects and repairs them.
  • Kits, assembles, and packages devices and related accessories.
  • Notifies supervisor of supply needs and production difficulties.
  • Supports company initiatives in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains positive communication with all levels of employees and vendors.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with relevant education and work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in assembly of digital/analog circuitry or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the biomedical field or clean room manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines on multiple projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to understand and comply with FDA regulations and company policies.
  • Must be able to lift up to approximately 25 pounds.
