Overview

The TIG Welder (2nd Shift) position in East Granby, CT offers an opportunity to work with a renowned provider of aerospace solutions. The role requires strong TIG welding skills and experience in aerospace manufacturing, with a focus on precision applications.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials for welding by cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal.
  • Read weld blueprints and engineered drawings, and follow work order requirements.
  • Set up the welding machine for specific materials, thicknesses, and positions using complicated weld fixtures.
  • Dimensionally inspect welds and other characteristics of parts using tools such as calipers and gauges.
  • Inspect all parts for proper assembly and cosmetic defects.
  • Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear all Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, completing all required training.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of welding experience required.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience is required.
  • Strong TIG welding experience with proficiency in precision aerospace applications.
  • Experience welding thin-gauge materials, particularly thicknesses from .050" to .090".
  • Hands-on experience welding stainless steel, titanium, and Inconel.
  • Experience supporting aerospace products and programs.
  • Certification in GTAW; AWS D17.1; PWA 16 (in any group material).
  • Ability to read, interpret, and process blueprints and operation sheets.
  • Capable of using standard bench tools and gauges for setup, inspection, and welding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
