Overview

KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey, providing essential services to ensure smooth operations. The War Reserve Material (WRM) Corrosion Control Specialist / Welder role is crucial for extending the lifecycle and ensuring the structural integrity of ground support equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect AGE, MMHE, and related support equipment to identify corrosion, structural damage, and paint degradation.
  • Perform comprehensive surface preparation, including masking, chemical stripping, mechanical sanding, and abrasive media blasting.
  • Mix and apply chemical conversion coatings, primers, and topcoats using high-volume, low-pressure spray systems.
  • Design, fabricate, and apply stencils, decals, and safety markings in accordance with military specifications.
  • Perform structural repairs and fabricate metal components for support equipment using various materials.
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment to perform various welding and cutting processes.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and military technical orders.
  • Safely handle, store, and dispose of Hazardous Materials in coordination with environmental protocols.
  • Maintain the paint booth, blasting equipment, and welding shop, ensuring all safety systems function properly.
  • Document all maintenance, painting, and welding actions accurately in relevant systems.
  • Assist AGE Mechanics with general equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Safely wear required Personal Protective Equipment and work in confined spaces or paint booths.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of four years of combined experience in corrosion control/industrial painting and structural welding/metal fabrication.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in multiple welding processes and industrial painting techniques.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
