Job Description

Overview

John Zink is hiring a Field Service Engineer in the Fired Equipment Group to support customers across various industries, including colleges, hospitals, and refineries. The role involves installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial fired equipment critical to safe operations.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer facilities to support installation, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of fired equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues on combustion systems.
  • Provide technical expertise on register burners, duct burners, and utility burners.
  • Lead with safety in all aspects of field execution.
  • Interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and system layouts to identify issues.
  • Support and interface with instrumentation and controls systems.
  • Calibrate, test, and maintain field instrumentation.
  • Build strong relationships with customer operations and maintenance teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including service reports.

Requirements

  • Experience troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining industrial electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience working with PLC-based control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control systems.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 75%.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a TWIC within six weeks.
