Overview

The Field Service Technician for the Porta-Lathe business unit of PSS Industrial Group is responsible for traveling to off-site locations, primarily in the oilfield industry, to repair and maintain pipelines and equipment. When not in the field, the technician works onsite in the Fabrication Shop to repair and maintain various equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customers’ off-site facilities for repair and maintenance of pipelines and equipment.
  • Repair and maintain a wide variety of equipment.
  • Adhere to OSHA and DOT safety regulations at all times.
  • Participate in all required training and safety classes.
  • Ensure that company truck(s) are kept clean and conduct preventive maintenance checks.
  • Advise Branch Manager or Warehouse Supervisor of any operating issues or concerns with company vehicles.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallets, and workstations tidy and organized.
  • Follow safety precautions and protocols at all times.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent is preferred.
  • Ability to successfully pass written test for Operator Certification.
  • Ability to successfully pass random DOT drug tests.
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Ability to read, add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
  • Requires ability to work independently.
  • Requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
  • Good communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time.
  • Clean Driving Record for the past 5 years.
