Job Description

Overview

Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) offers internship and co-op opportunities to high-performing college students who want meaningful hands-on experiences in their fields of study. Interns/co-ops work side-by-side with experienced professionals as contributing members of diverse work teams who create value for the company’s shareholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support project scope development, including estimating, scheduling, design, contractor engagement, and construction oversight.
  • Assist with DOT-regulated pipeline integrity and maintenance programs.
  • Conduct field work at pipelines, compressor stations, pump stations, gas processing plants, and related facilities.
  • Support midstream initiatives across Natural Gas & NGL Services operations.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum/Natural Gas, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Concurrent enrollment in a Bachelor's degree (or higher) seeking program for the duration of the experience.
  • Strong academic performance.
  • Available to work on site 40 hours per week.
  • Valid driver's license for work-related travel.
  • Must be able to provide reliable transportation to and from place of work.
  • Authorized to work in the United States with the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Available for multiple work terms is preferred.
