Overview

The SLSS Mechanical Engineer will conduct engineering activities for Well Access products, ensuring compliance with industry standards while delivering innovative solutions within budget and timelines. The role involves mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance to improve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct engineering activities for Well Access products.
  • Deliver within the allocated budget and timelines for engineering tasks.
  • Provide technical guidance to generate innovative and cost-effective solutions.
  • Provide technical inputs to resolve issues or mitigate risks for Well Access products.
  • Identify technology development opportunities to improve efficiency and enable safer operations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and engineering processes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and interns, and create training material for clients.
  • Analyze, design, develop, and sustain assets/products/kits focused on intervention equipment.
  • Assist in the field implementation of equipment in agreement with the project team.
  • Generate system engineering documents and conduct risk evaluations.
  • Provide operational support to resolve engineering issues.
  • Define the engineering work scope for projects/products.
  • Participate in the creation of templates, engineering procedures, and design guidelines.
  • Conduct structural analysis and analytical calculations.
  • Lead technical projects, directing and reviewing work of technicians and junior engineers.
  • Contribute to standards such as ISO 13628-7, ISO 13625-5, API 6A, API 17G, and API 5CT.
  • Generate verification and validation, factory acceptance, and system integration test procedures.
  • Interface with manufacturing shops to communicate design requirements.
  • Provide updates on engineering progress to stakeholders.
  • Author engineering reports, papers, articles, patents, and presentations.
  • Create training material and train field representatives and external clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, or similar.
  • 4-6 years of experience with emphasis in product design/development.
  • Prior experience with analytical and computational packages.
  • Experience in well intervention equipment and/or operations is a plus.
