Overview

Join a mission-critical data center construction project in Houston, Texas, where quality is essential to every phase of construction. As a Mechanical QC Technician/Inspector, you will ensure compliance with contract documents, engineering specifications, and industry codes while promoting a culture of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with project drawings and specifications.
  • Monitor installation of structural steel, piping, welding, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, concrete, and civil work.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Inspection Test Plans (QITPs) and verify material traceability and documentation.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections, equipment walkdowns, and support system turnover activities.
  • Verify installation tolerances, bolting, torque requirements, and structural connections.
  • Review weld fit-up and completed welds, and coordinate NDE activities.
  • Inspect underground utilities, concrete placement, and reinforcing steel.
  • Complete daily inspection reports, maintain inspection logs, and prepare punch lists.
  • Track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and verify corrective actions.
  • Participate in owner inspections and project quality meetings.
  • Coordinate hold points and support third-party inspectors.
  • Interface with engineering and project controls.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3-7+ years of industrial construction QA/QC experience.
  • Experience with EPC projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings.
  • Ability to read P&IDs, Isometric Drawings, IFC Drawings, Structural Drawings, and Electrical One-Line Diagrams.
