Overview

SSOE’s Tool Install division specializes in high-tech facility design, offering top-tier design and engineering services to a diverse array of clients. They are seeking a Part-Time Mechanical Designer Intern to engage in the design process of cutting-edge industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Produce comprehensive technical drawings and models aligning with project requirements and client expectations.
  • Create, refine, and finalize designs encompassing industrial piping, plumbing, ducting, process chemicals, and potentially other mechanical building systems.
  • Apply established design techniques, exercising judgment to adapt and modify design concepts while ensuring compliance with company and team CAD standards for quality control.
  • Collaborate closely with design teams, Engineers, Project Managers, and stakeholders to address specific objectives and propose viable solutions.
  • Facilitate seamless coordination among various design disciplines to fulfill design package requirements.
  • Conduct field verifications and site assessments to identify, verify, resolve, and integrate solutions into design packages.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with tools such as Revit, Navisworks, PIPE-FLO, or other similar tools is a plus.
  • Experience working with AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge.
  • Critical thinker with a passion for detail.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and client interaction.

  • This position is an onsite role in the North Phoenix, AZ area.
