Overview

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for their Houston, Texas location to support various mechanical engineering needs including research, product design, and equipment testing. The company focuses on advanced technology and high reliability in industrial growth markets such as aerospace, defense, and medical imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Use advanced knowledge of products and processes in job performance.
  • Perform product research, design, development, and testing.
  • Conduct product redesign and enhancement.
  • Design, develop, and test production and test equipment.
  • Engage in sustaining engineering activities.
  • Participate in manufacturing process improvement.
  • Prepare and present proposals and technical reports.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing departments.
  • Lead and direct engineering projects.
  • Coordinate with other engineering staff on projects.
  • Mentor junior engineering staff members.
  • Respond to inquiries from production departments, vendors, and customers.
  • Participate in Company Quality and Safety systems.
  • Follow Trade Compliance policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5 years of related mechanical engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of deployable marine seismic data acquisition equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation and specifications.
  • Ability to apply engineering knowledge to support design and development.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and engineering drawing/modeling packages.
  • Knowledge of engineering testing and debugging.
  • Good English communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to develop and train junior engineers.

Additional Information

  • Location: Houston, Texas.
  • Limited domestic travel required.
  • Must meet clearance eligibility for US Security Clearance.
  • U.S. Person for access to ITAR-Controlled Technical Data.
