Overview

KCI Technologies, Inc. is a 100% employee-owned engineering, consulting, and construction firm that is currently hiring a Marine Structural Engineer-in-Training for Summer 2027. This position is for Spring 2027 graduates and involves working on the investigation, design, and development of waterfront and marine structures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform investigations, surveys, and design of waterfront structures.
  • Prepare specifications, conduct waterfront investigations, and report preparation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Coordinate work with Engineers and others on specific assignments.
  • Review input from Project or Technical Managers and adjust work products as necessary.
  • Complete work in a timely and effective manner within assigned schedules and budgets.
  • Perform structural design and develop construction drawings for concrete, wood, and steel structures.
  • Preferred experience in all phases of design and construction administration.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program.
  • General knowledge of design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good communication and technical writing skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to maintain required certifications.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
