Overview

General Dynamics NASSCO is seeking 5 Structural Welders J1-J4 for night shift work in Norfolk, Virginia. The company specializes in ship construction, repair, conversion, and maintenance for commercial and national defense assets.

Responsibilities

  • Weld using SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW welding processes.
  • Hook up oxygen acetylene torch.
  • Read weld gauges and use hand tools with close supervision.
  • Understand weld symbols.
  • Know standard item 1689 and the guidelines of 5S.

Requirements

  • Must be able to access all Navy installations and other shipyards by obtaining DBIDS and NAVSEA badges.
  • No security clearance is required.
