Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a growing plastics and packaging manufacturer in Chicago, IL. This is a 1st shift position offering up to $40.00 per hour and an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Technician with strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on production machinery
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment failures
  • Diagnose faults involving motors, drives, sensors and electrical controls
  • Troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Maintain conveyors and automated production equipment
  • Respond to machinery breakdowns and minimize production downtime
  • Repair and replace mechanical and electrical components
  • Support equipment installations, modifications and upgrades
  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance activities
  • Work closely with production to improve equipment reliability and performance

Requirements

  • Previous Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic or Industrial Maintenance experience
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with motors, drives, sensors and controls
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Experience maintaining automated manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to diagnose and repair machinery breakdowns independently
  • Plastics, packaging, injection molding, extrusion or thermoforming experience is highly desirable
