Overview

The Prototype Vehicle Technician will build and assemble advanced automotive prototype vehicles and test benches, diagnose and repair vehicle systems, and collaborate with engineering teams in a dynamic environment. This role requires critical thinking and a strong knowledge of electric vehicle systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build and assemble state of the art automotive prototype vehicles and test benches.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicles and test bench systems.
  • Work efficiently within a multidisciplinary cooperative environment on prototype, pre-production, show, and production vehicles.
  • Apply critical thinking skills to work without instruction, manuals, or workbooks.
  • Collaborate with engineering to fabricate and/or modify system and subsystem components.
  • Maintain a high knowledge level of high voltage, low voltage, and general electric vehicle systems.
  • Drive vehicles to evaluate vehicle health status, test features, and collect data.
  • Follow systematic processes, document potential issues and improvements, and contribute to enhancing team efficiency.
  • Assist in creating and developing service and maintenance documents.

Requirements

  • Automotive technician degree, certification, or equivalent work experience.
  • Own and bring your own professional automotive toolbox.
  • 5 years of Automotive Technician or relevant experience, with preferably 2 years in Luxury Automobile Technician experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver license with clean records.
  • Exhibit an unwavering commitment to safety and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated track record of excellence in past positions.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional customer experience with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Thrive in a dynamic environment and adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of electrical schematics and capability to create simple test boards.
  • Working knowledge of CAN communications.
