Overview

Core & Main is a leader in advancing reliable infrastructure with local service nationwide. They are seeking a skilled Fusion Tech III to deliver high-quality HDPE piping solutions and exceptional customer service in a hands-on role.

Responsibilities

• Determine appropriate fusion method and equipment necessary to install pipe.
• Provide and install custom HDPE piping systems and repair systems.
• Perform Butt, Sidewall, Socket, Electro fusion and extrusion structure welds.
• Inspect and maintain fusion equipment.
• Communicate with customers to assess needs.
• Identify installation and repair needs.
• Determine if final product meets quality control standards.
• Transport equipment to job site.
• Operate field equipment and forklift.
• Be responsible for 24-hour on-call repair emergencies.

Requirements

• Experience as an HDPE Fusion Technician, including operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of polyethylene pipe fusion equipment.
• Generally, a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related area of responsibility.
• Working knowledge of HDPE fusion processes, equipment setup, quality standards, and safe operating practices.
• Basic to intermediate mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and perform repairs on fusion equipment and related components.
• Basic to intermediate electrical aptitude, including the ability to diagnose common electrical issues associated with fusion equipment, wiring, controls, and accessories.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, operating procedures, and technical documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to safe work practices.
• Valid Arizona driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Possession of a valid Arizona Commercial Driver License (CDL) with applicable DOT endorsements, or the ability to obtain and maintain the required CDL and endorsements within a specified period following hire.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials in accordance with company safety standards.
• McElroy equipment training and/or certification.
• Current HDPE fusion certifications through recognized industry organizations or manufacturers.
• Experience in underground utility, pipeline, natural gas, water, wastewater, telecommunications, mining, or construction-related industries.
• Additional industry-specific safety, equipment, or operator certifications.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must pass pre-employment assessment(s).
• Ability to successfully complete and maintain all required training and certifications, including HDPE fusion training, OSHA safety training, and MSHA Part 48 training, as required by company policy and job assignments.
• Ability to meet all DOT medical certification requirements.
• Willingness and ability to travel overnight on a consistent basis as required by business needs.

• Typically in an environment with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
• Requires intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment, some of which may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
