Overview

Central Arizona Project (CAP) is seeking a highly-skilled, highly-motivated industrial mechanic for the position of Millwright Heavy Overhaul Mechanic at their Phoenix Headquarters Office. This role involves maintaining large industrial mechanical systems critical for delivering Colorado River water to central and southern Arizona.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical duties associated with preventive maintenance, repair, and overhaul of heavy industrial mechanical equipment.
  • Ensure equipment is safe, mechanically sound, and operating efficiently.
  • Travel frequently within the state from Monday to Thursday.

Requirements

  • A driver's license with a good driving record.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three or more years of related journeyman-level experience.
  • Completion of a related state-approved apprenticeship is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of hydro-electric generating and pumping systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic systems and controls.
  • Proficient in the safe use of tools and equipment for precision measuring and testing.
  • Well versed in industrial safety requirements including hazardous energy control protocols.
