Overview

The Maintenance Technician at Abzena plays a crucial role in the Facilities Maintenance team, responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of GMP manufacturing and laboratory equipment. Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems line diagrams and prints.
  • Service equipment including boilers, chillers, air compressors, deionized water generation, HVAC, and piping distribution systems.
  • Support daily Facilities and Engineering workflow by escorting and supervising contractors/vendors.
  • Perform corrective maintenance and emergency repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Document maintenance activities following Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and cGMP requirements.
  • Assist with equipment purchases including uncrating, moving, installing, and connecting utilities.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process equipment failures.
  • Conduct repairs/modifications on HVAC, VFD’s, piping/plumbing, lighting, and other areas.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements.
  • Support shutdown activities, equipment relocations, facility projects, and capital improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to support manufacturing and facility operations outside normal business hours.
  • Maintain F&E owned areas and perform work in accordance with site expectations and pharmaceutical industry standards.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years minimum experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, research, or equivalent highly regulated environment.
  • Experience with maintenance activities within utility areas, labs, and classified cleanrooms.
  • Experience supporting electrical/mechanical/facility installation projects.
  • Familiarity with BMS/EMS systems.
  • Experience using CMMS systems such as Blue Mountain, Maximo, Qualer, or equivalent.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical capabilities/aptitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and productively across multiple site departments.
  • Associate degree in Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or related technical discipline.
