Overview

The DWM Plant Maintenance Mechanic II position involves performing preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment in the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of plants. This experienced level role requires skills in plumbing, welding, and machinery maintenance, ensuring safe and effective operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain machinery and mechanical equipment according to specifications using hand tools and power tools.
  • Repair and troubleshoot equipment, observing mechanical devices to locate causes of trouble.
  • Conduct performance tests of plant equipment using various measuring instruments.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctioning plant equipment.
  • Participate in the installation and modification of wastewater treatment plant equipment.
  • Perform pipefitting and repair air, sewer, and hydraulic piping systems.
  • Maintain efficient records on operations and activities, including safety records.
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams for wastewater systems.
  • Operate heavy equipment as necessary.
  • Initiate purchase orders for parts and equipment.
