Overview

The Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role emphasizes compliance with regulatory standards, preventive maintenance, and effective communication to ensure operational excellence and equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, ensuring compliance with building codes.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration units and HVAC systems.
  • Adhere to OSHA standards and EPA refrigerant handling protocols.
  • Lead and mentor field teams on technical procedures and safety practices.
  • Coordinate service calls, manage workload, and maintain accurate documentation and inventory.
  • Operate company vehicles safely to complete service calls.

Requirements

  • Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field, or 4 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.
  • Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five years.
  • No more than two moving violations in the last three years.
