Overview

SLB New Energy & Industrial is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to support the Engineering Lead and Product Engineering Manager in large scale data centers. The role involves ensuring the accuracy and safety of mechanical systems during various phases of design and construction while contributing to innovative data center infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Check and approve drawings and documentation to meet industrial standards.
• Review and monitor engineering work for accuracy and conformance with specifications.
• Attend design and development planning sessions to meet customer needs.
• Prepare technical requisitions for mechanical systems and components.
• Review vendor quotations and provide feedback to the procurement team.
• Prepare mechanical engineering deliverables including drawings and calculations.
• Create bulk material take-offs and detailed bills of materials.
• Stay informed of new developments affecting the organization.
• Make independent decisions on technical problems and represent the organization in meetings.
• Select and specify painting and coating systems for data center items.
• Advise project engineers on industry codes and specifications.
• Supervise outsourcing of piping engineering work if necessary.
• Perform or check pipe stress analysis according to design basis.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase and respond to RFIs.
• Attend job site visits, project meetings, and commissioning activities as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineering License is strongly preferred.
• 3 to 10 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering focused on data centers.
• Ability to produce drawings and sketches to illustrate designs.
• General knowledge of data center construction, operation, and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge in piping and fire suppression system design.
• Experience with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Experience with CAD and BIM software.
• Detailed understanding of piping systems and mechanical equipment in data centers.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
