Overview

NorthStar Energy Services is seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Project Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team, providing engineering, procurement, project management, and consulting solutions across the energy and petrochemical industries. This dual-role position combines mechanical and piping engineering with project leadership, supporting projects from concept through construction and startup.

Responsibilities

  • Develop practical mechanical and piping design solutions for pipeline and facility projects.
  • Perform engineering analyses, calculations, and design activities for mechanical deliverables.
  • Interpret and apply applicable codes and standards for energy systems.
  • Develop and review specifications and equipment selections for various mechanical equipment.
  • Provide independent technical review of project deliverables for constructability and operability.
  • Ensure project compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Serve as Project Engineer for assigned projects, managing scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary deliverables and serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients.
  • Develop and maintain core project documentation.
  • Support procurement through technical evaluations and purchase recommendations.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews of drawings and deliverables.
  • Respond to RFIs, technical queries, and construction issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct field assessments and provide engineering support during construction and startup.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferred: Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas or ability to obtain one.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to technical accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.
  • Adaptable and solutions-oriented with strong analytical judgment.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Information

  • This is a full-time, in-office position.
  • Employees are expected to work onsite during their regular work schedule.
  • Locations: Arlington, TX or Houston, TX.
