Overview

TRAIL-EZE, a family-owned company in Mitchell, SD, has been building quality trailers since 1963. They are seeking a skilled and dependable Welder to join their manufacturing team, responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components for heavy-haul trailers while ensuring high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble metal components using welding equipment and gas torches.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions using an iPad.
  • Maintain required tolerances and quality standards.
  • Position and secure materials using tables, jigs, clamps, fixtures, bolts, and tack welds.
  • Safely operate welding equipment, hand tools, power tools, and related equipment.
  • Move workpieces, tools, and supplies manually or with overhead cranes.
  • Grind, finish, and prepare completed products.
  • Inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify defects or quality concerns.
  • Repair or replace damaged components by removing and installing new parts as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Work independently while also being a dependable member of the team.
  • Ability to work around and safely operate overhead cranes.

Requirements

  • Previous welding and fabrication experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and proper PPE use.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials as required.
  • Manufacturing/shop environment experience.
  • Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and physical activity required.
  • Ability to work safely around welding processes, metal materials, and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to safely operate welding equipment, hand tools, power tools, and machinery.

Additional Information

  • Monday–Thursday work schedule with daytime hours.
  • 4-Day Work Week with No Weekends and No Overnight Shifts.
