Overview

Manthey Hospitality is seeking a skilled Welder / Fitter / Fabricator to join our Fleet Maintenance team in Tampa, FL. This hands-on role involves supporting the construction, repair, and maintenance of vessels and marine infrastructure through high-quality steel and aluminum fabrication and welding.

Responsibilities

• Perform all work safely and in accordance with company safety standards and PPE requirements
• Cut, fit, fabricate, and weld steel and aluminum components to specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and measurements
• Select appropriate materials, welding equipment, and welding methods based on project requirements
• Operate hand and power tools including grinders, saws, sanders, calipers, and measuring devices
• Align, position, clamp, and secure components prior to welding
• Perform welding in a variety of positions using TIG, MMA, and other applicable processes
• Repair and reinforce vessel structures, gangways, docks, and related equipment
• Inspect completed work to ensure structural integrity, quality, and compliance with specifications
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition
• Assist with general ship repair and marine maintenance projects as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year of welding and fabrication experience
• Experience welding both steel and aluminum
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Working knowledge of welding safety standards and PPE requirements
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable transportation
• Must be able to successfully pass a practical welding test
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
• TWIC Card required or ability to obtain and maintain
• Marine, shipyard, or industrial fabrication experience
• Completion of a welding apprenticeship program
• AWS or other professional welding certifications
• Experience with vessel repair, structural fabrication, or marine construction projects
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to work at heights and utilize ladders, scaffolding, and fall-protection equipment when required
