Overview

Southeastern Trench Safety is seeking a Welding Technician to perform welding and fabrication work to support equipment repairs and maintenance. The company values teamwork and offers career advancement in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding and metal fabrication work to support equipment repairs, maintenance, and modifications.
  • Repair cracks, worn components, and damaged metal surfaces to ensure equipment safety and reliability.
  • Maintain and inspect welding equipment, cutting tools, and related fabrication machinery.
  • Prepare rental equipment for customer use by cleaning and detailing with a power washer.
  • Ensure proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn and all safety procedures are followed while working in the yard.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment for customers and deliveries.
  • Provide customers with basic equipment operation and safety instructions as needed.
  • Stage, organize, and prepare equipment for scheduled deliveries and pickups.
  • Maintain an organized yard to support efficient operations and minimize customer wait times.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment throughout the yard and shop areas.
  • Perform local deliveries and pickups to customer locations and retail vendors using a company pickup truck as requested.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of welding experience preferred.
  • Experienced in MIG, TIG, and Stick (SMAW) welding.
  • Skilled in patch work, structural repairs, and metal fabrication.
  • Oxy-Acetylene & Plasma Cutting experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision – Self-Motivated.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG, TIG, and Stick work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
