Overview

This position is for an Air Reserve Technician (ART) who serves as a journey-level mechanic responsible for inspecting, machining, welding, and repairing aircraft parts and components, as well as designing and manufacturing support equipment for aircraft maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots, overhauls, machines, and repairs various types and sizes of industrial plant/facilities equipment.
  • Performs complex, intricate, specialized, or nonstandard machining.
  • Carries out various welding assignments.
  • Plans, develops, writes, and/or updates complex coded source programs in designated computer command languages.
  • Ensures compliance with security directives and promotes good safety and health habits in all work areas.
  • Controls tools and certifies work produced under the USAF Technical Order Program.

Additional Information

  • ARTs are required to maintain active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned.
  • ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month.
