Overview

The Pipefitter position at Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System involves installing and repairing various piping systems and equipment at a large VA Medical Center affiliated with a medical college, located in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Responsibilities

  • Installs and repairs valves, fittings, traps, fixtures, drains, and other items on piping systems and equipment.
  • Works from building plans, blueprints, sketches, and oral orders to plan and lay out piping systems.
  • Maintains therapeutic swimming pool equipment, ensuring proper heating and circulation of water.
  • Joins, seals, and tests systems and equipment for proper pressure and leak-free operation.

Additional Information

  • Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday 1:00 pm - 11:30 pm (subject to change based on the needs of the agency).
  • Physical requirements include working in hard-to-reach places and handling equipment weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Working conditions may involve exposure to dirty, dusty, and greasy environments, as well as potential hazards.
