Job Duties

• Weld metal parts together using electric or gas welding equipment.

• Fill cavities and correct malformations in parts; hammer out bulges and bends in metal parts.

• Use a grinder to smooth burrs and rough edges.

• Examine parts for defects and confirm they meet quality requirements.

• Arrange work in a safe and efficient manner.

• Lift parts and dismantle metal assemblies as needed.

• Cut scrap metal using a plasma torch.

• Follow all safety rules, policies, and procedures.

• Keep the work area clean and organized.

• Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• At least one year of welding experience required; MIG welding experience is needed for this role.

• Knowledge of welding techniques, welding gases, and cutting tips.

• Working knowledge of sheet metal, tooling, and tool maintenance.

• Strong measuring and math skills, including fractions and decimals.

• Ability to read blueprints.

• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16 of an inch.

• Ability to distinguish among materials such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel, copper, and brass.

• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

• Knowledge of safe techniques for lifting heavy items.

• A high school diploma or equivalent, welding certification, and manufacturing experience are preferred.

What You Will Do

As a MIG Welder you will prepare materials, set up welding equipment, perform MIG welding operations, inspect completed welds, read blueprints, verify measurements, and help fabricate metal components according to engineering specifications. You will maintain welding equipment, follow quality standards, and support safe, efficient manufacturing operations while producing consistent, high-quality work.

A MIG Welder joins and fabricates metal components using MIG welding processes to produce strong, accurate, and reliable finished products. This role combines technical welding knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and craftsmanship to support manufacturing and fabrication operations.

Successful MIG Welder professionals understand welding techniques, blueprint interpretation, material preparation, and weld quality while maintaining safe work practices and consistent production standards. Attention to detail is essential for producing durable, high-quality weldments.
