Overview

The Welder position at Deep Well Services involves general welding, fabrication, repair, and maintenance of the operational fleet, equipment, and facilities. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail to perform welding and fabrication work safely and in accordance with company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all shop policies and procedures within the Deep Well Services Quality Management System.
  • Perform general welding repairs, modifications, improvements, and fabrication on oilfield service equipment.
  • Perform fabrication work for new equipment and structural components as assigned.
  • Visually inspect equipment and fabricated components to identify defects or deficiencies.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, measurements, and fabrication specifications.
  • Perform DWS prequalified welds using GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW welding processes.
  • Perform TIG and MIG welding when required based on job scope.
  • Fabricate and repair carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other materials.
  • Operate welding machines, grinders, cutting equipment, and other shop tools safely.
  • Operate company equipment, including forklifts and telehandlers, when trained and authorized.
  • Perform large repair and fabrication projects with minimal supervision.
  • Coordinate with field personnel regarding equipment repairs and operational needs.
  • Assist with troubleshooting mechanical and structural equipment issues.
  • Work with the Quality Manager to execute nonconformance procedures and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to fabrication, repairs, inspections, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all Deep Well Services safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform field welding, fabrication, or repair support as required.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of some verifiable welding and fabrication experience required.
  • Approximately 3+ years of verifiable welding and fabrication experience preferred for higher technician levels.
  • Strong welding and fabrication skills.
  • Ability to perform GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW welding processes.
  • TIG and MIG welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to identify weld defects and equipment damage.
  • Ability to safely operate welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with shop and field personnel.

Additional Information

  • Full-Time, Non-Exempt status.
  • Reports to Maintenance Manager.
  • Travel Requirements: Approximately 25%.
  • Local schedule, 5 days on / 2 days off.
  • Work Location: Zelienople, PA.
  • Training Location: Deep Well Services training facility in Zelienople, Pennsylvania.

What you'll be running
