Overview

Leidos is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the Cargo Mission Contract (CMC) and a growing portfolio of NASA and commercial customer work. The technician will provide technical support in various engineering areas including research, design, development, testing, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical engineering support and perform work according to approved documents and engineering drawings.
  • Perform fabrication, assembly, modification, repair, troubleshooting, and testing of electrical, electronic, and mechanical components.
  • Work with laptops, printers, audiovisual equipment, and associated hardware.
  • Fabricate cables, harnesses, and electronic components following NASA-recognized workmanship standards.
  • Read and implement requirements from engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Support hardware testing, troubleshooting, inspection, repair, and modification activities.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Lead or coordinate technical activities impacting organizational results.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to lower-level technicians.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas according to safety and quality standards.
  • Perform general laboratory cleanup and maintenance.
  • Travel domestically as required to support various technical requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of related technical experience.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience in electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical fabrication and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawing and documentation processes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to support multiple projects and adapt to changing customer requirements.

Additional Information

  • This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum wage requirements.
  • The rate for this position will be at least $40/hr, but may be higher based on experience.
  • Must be able to pass a Public Trust background investigation.
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status is required.
  • Travel may include Kennedy Space Center, testing activities in San Antonio and California, and other locations.
