Overview

The HVAC / Refrigeration Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing ammonia refrigeration systems and associated equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency. The role involves collaboration with contractors and internal teams to support facility operations and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ammonia refrigeration systems, including heating and air conditioning equipment, boiler systems, and compressed air systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on compressors, condensers, evaporators, and other machinery.
  • Work with refrigeration contractors and electricians to ensure compliance with safety policies.
  • Coordinate operations and maintenance utilities equipment to support production schedules.
  • Assist in recordkeeping and training for Process Safety Management compliance.
  • Provide technical analysis and real-time data on refrigeration and operational equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and plumbing issues.
  • Utilize technical records and diagrams for preventative maintenance documentation.
  • Handle maintenance emergencies as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
