Overview

Molex Reliability Lab is seeking a talented Lab Test Technician to join their team in Lisle, Illinois, supporting globally diverse, multi-functional Engineering teams. The role involves hands-on construction analysis, sample preparation, testing, troubleshooting, and root cause failure analysis of interconnect solutions throughout the product development cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Build/modify/prep connector assemblies, cable assemblies, modules, PC boards, load boards for various tests using manual/automated tools and hand soldering equipment.
  • Document and communicate test data while applying critical thinking to analyze results.
  • Perform cross sections and visual inspection at various magnifications.
  • Conduct dimensional measurements with reference to Engineering drawings.
  • Execute Glow Wire Testing.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure efficient and timely project deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedure documents for repeatable test methods.
  • Handle chemical exposures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years’ work experience in a related field; OR an Associate’s degree and 1+ years’ work experience in a related field.
  • Proficient with hand soldering equipment/techniques.
  • Working knowledge of interconnect systems, twisted pair, coaxial conductors.
  • Experience with wire preparation and termination techniques (crimped, soldered, welded).
