Overview

The Parker Jewish Institute, located in New Hyde Park NY, is seeking a Full Time Maintenance Mechanic to join our building services team in our skilled nursing facility on a temporary basis. The role involves ensuring the facility and its equipment are in good working condition to ensure the comfort and safety of residents.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building repairs and preventative maintenance assignments.
  • Carry out inspections and maintenance of gas, plumbing, electrical, electronic, and HVAC systems.
  • Handle painting and grounds maintenance tasks.
  • Complete other assignments as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Four years of apprenticeship training in one or more trades or four years of experience in carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, masonry, or mechanical trades.
  • Must have a clean and active NYS Driver's License.
  • Must have and maintain a valid FDNY and G71 certificate of fitness required by FDNY.
  • Good interpersonal skills, both verbal and in writing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
