Overview

The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician I is an entry-level position providing mechanical and electrical support in a dairy processing and manufacturing plant in Tempe, AZ. The role involves repairs, replacements, and adjustments to equipment to ensure proper operations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough walkthroughs and assessments of all equipment.
  • Perform routine mechanical and electrical repairs on equipment.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctioning and/or out-of-service equipment.
  • Provide mechanical assistance to plant Operators in troubleshooting and repair.
  • Monitor and maintain plant systems/subsystems to operate equipment.
  • Be available to work shifts to fulfill personnel slotting requirements.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in a manufacturing/production environment, preferably in food manufacturing.
  • Mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance skills.
  • Knowledge of homogenizers, blow molds, and electrical distribution (480V/60Hz/3 phase).
  • Welding experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, plant drawings, and schematics.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • General knowledge of boiler operations, fluid heat exchangers, refrigeration/cooling systems, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, air compressor operations, and electrical/electronic controls.
  • Familiarity with Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Work schedule is Monday to Friday from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
  • Location: Tempe Milk Plant, 1115 W Alameda Drive, Tempe, AZ 85282.
  • Possibility of extension and conversion to full-time depending on candidate performance.
