Overview

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician at Southwest Airlines is responsible for inspecting and repairing aircraft during overnight hours, ensuring they are ready for flights. The role emphasizes hands-on work outdoors and collaboration with Technical Operations and Airport Teams to maintain safe and on-time service.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and repair aircraft systems and components.
  • Perform checks, dismantling, overhauling, and fabricating parts.
  • Work in a cooperative spirit to ensure the success of the company.
  • Follow maintenance procedures and comply with regulations.
  • Write accurate summaries of work performed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of Aircraft Maintenance Experience, including 1 year of Heavy Jet Aircraft Maintenance Experience.
  • Must meet recency of experience requirements of CFR 65.83.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required.
  • Valid Federal A&P Certificates required.
