Overview

At Mac Haik Ford, the Body Shop Technician position involves performing vehicle collision and repair work according to dealership and factory standards while being part of a vibrant community.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle collision and repair work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform all body work including welding, soldering, body alignment and oxidizing operations.
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Notify body shop supervisor and/or estimator if additional repair is required or not needed.
  • Notify shop supervisor and/or estimator if repairs can't be completed within time promised.
  • Document all work performed on the RO including recording cause of failure.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and perform quality checks.
  • Supervise work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
  • Ensure that customer vehicles are kept clean and only driven for business purposes.
  • Keep shop area neat and clean; account for all dealership-owned tools.
  • Stay current in the latest collision and repair methods.
  • Participate in collision and repair training activities.
  • Meet customer service standards by achieving high customer service information scores.
  • Follow established safety protocols and report any shop equipment issues.
  • Comply with federal, state and local regulations affecting service operations.
  • Safeguard dealership assets and customer data.
  • Complete required training assigned through the company training portal.
  • Adhere to a consistent and reliable work schedule.
  • Demonstrate ethical business practices and integrity in all interactions.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Body Shop Technician experience required.
  • I-Car and welding certifications (steel & aluminum).
  • Understand written estimates and OEC procedures.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening.
  • Authorization to work in the USA.
