Overview

The Maintenance Tech - General II is responsible for the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of various mechanical equipment and building facilities. This role involves dismantling, repairing, and reassembling equipment while ensuring safety and compliance with operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Performs all urgent, corrective, routine, preventative, and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing equipment and systems.
  • Maintains routine records of all inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system.
  • Maintain and repair distribution systems involving vacuum, medical air, medical gas systems and air compressors.
  • Maintain and repair pneumatic equipment located in engine rooms, such as hot water convertor, thermostats, induction units, sump pumps and all piping pertaining to the function of this equipment.
  • Make checks of all mechanical area equipment.
  • Handle maintenance calls from the main office.
  • Assist other trade maintenance technicians with more complicated repairs as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; additional education and/or training required.
  • 3 years of related experience required.
  • Journeyman Mechanical Maintenance (or equivalent) with understanding of electrical safety and lockout/tagout standards.
  • Knowledge of and ability to ensure safe practices in daily operations and effective maintenance and repair services for physical premises.
  • Knowledge of successful approaches, tools, and techniques for dealing with changes and adapting to a changing environment.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use tools and techniques to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from an emergency.
  • Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing and resolving technical problems.
  • Knowledge of HSE policy and ability to implement HSE policies to ensure safety and compliance.
