Job Description

Overview

The Electromechanical Technician will be a key member of the Operations team at our UHT facility, focusing on troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing various equipment failures to minimize production interruptions while conducting preventative maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, automation, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment failures or malfunctions promptly.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks on industrial machinery to identify potential issues.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and repair Steam, Refrigeration, and Wastewater systems.
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance activities according to a predefined schedule.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools, equipment manuals, blueprints, and technical resources to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement maintenance plans and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance activities using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Utilize SAP for completing Purchase requisitions.
  • Follow safety protocols and adhere to all relevant regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Coordinate with team members, equipment vendors, and external contractors for repairs or technical assistance.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
  • Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades or improvements.
  • Train and assist operators in equipment maintenance procedures and troubleshooting techniques.

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience.
  • H.S. Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, automation (PLC), VFDs, mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.
  • Solid understanding of preventive maintenance principles and practices.
  • Stainless Steel and Sanitary Welding skills is a plus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to safety and knowledge of safety regulations.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Boiler Experience – NJ Blue or Black Seal Boiler License is a plus.

Additional Information

  • 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM.
  • Training on 1st shift (6:30 AM–3:00 PM) for about 3 weeks before moving to 2nd shift.
  • Flexibility to accommodate early-morning commitments during training.
