Overview

The Technician position at Donatech requires a W2 employee who will perform various duties in electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical areas, including troubleshooting and maintaining equipment. The role involves working from schematics and conducting tests while ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems.
  • Execute precise sectioning, mounting, grinding, and polishing of materials for microstructural analysis.
  • Operate analytical tools for Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS), and other platforms.
  • Conduct mechanical testing on various materials in accordance with ASTM standards.
  • Compile raw data into technical presentations and communicate observations.
  • Safely install test fixtures and sub-assemblies under test.
  • Perform routine calibration and preventative maintenance on lab equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a materials characterization or mechanical testing laboratory environment.
  • Prior experience evaluating mechanical test results and operating mechanical load frames.
  • Experience conducting failure analysis activity.
  • Familiarity with aerospace/military specifications and industry standards.
  • Strong communication skills.
