Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic Electrician position requires a skilled individual with primary expertise as an electrician and secondary skills in areas such as carpentry, pipe fitting, HVAC, welding, or machine repair. The role involves operating material handling and rigging equipment, performing various maintenance tasks, and ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, maintains, and fabricates plant facilities and equipment.
• Performs mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance.
• Conducts welding, pipefitting, HVAC, carpentry work, and painting.
• Performs periodic inspections and tests and reports findings.
• Receives general instructions from supervisors and notices of service required.
• Works from blueprints, sketches, and oral instructions.
• Uses hand tools, power tools, and other equipment necessary for assignments.
• May direct other employees assigned to the job.

Requirements

• Must have primary skill as an electrician and secondary skill in carpentry, pipe fitting, HVAC, welding, or machine repair.
• Must be able to operate material handling and rigging equipment.
• Apprenticeship papers, Journeymen’s card, or 5 years of equivalent work experience in the Electrical discipline is required.
• A working knowledge of machine tools and welding is a plus.
• Must supply all customary hand tools of the trade.
• Must pass the company physical and drug test.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• Must regularly demonstrate the ability to lift nominal weight, climb ladders, utilize elevated working platforms, and bend while servicing equipment.
• Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment are necessary.
