Overview

The Entry Level Shipboard Welder position at Electric Boat in Honolulu, Hawaii involves performing submarine shipboard installation and manufacturing work. Candidates should have training in naval submarine maintenance and be adaptable to work in a team environment, utilizing various welding techniques and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform submarine shipboard installation and manufacturing work.
  • Utilize various types of pipe and structural weld techniques using different materials and welding equipment.
  • Apply various inspection and non-destructive testing techniques and standards.
  • Support the company’s goals of safety, quality, cost, schedule, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma / GED or equivalent.
  • Experience in shipboard installation, repair, and/or manufacturing environments or formal welding training.
  • Ability to perform functions of the craft safely and in compliance with procedural standards.
  • Willingness to travel and accept extended out of area work assignments and various working shift assignments.
  • Vocational school/military experience preferred.
  • Skilled shipboard welders/mechanics preferred.

Additional Information

  • Position requires physical capability to work in industrial facilities and shipboard environments.
  • A DoD secret clearance is required as a condition of employment.
