Overview

HII is seeking a Marine Mechanic/Welder to join their SEMAT Hawaii team in Pearl Harbor, HI. This role involves performing welding and mechanical maintenance on USN Surface Ships, contributing to the readiness of the Navy's fleet.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and mechanical maintenance to assist shipboard personnel.
• Master understanding of production and processes.
• Interface with customers and manage subcontractors.
• Complete comprehension of specialty trades functions and tools.
• Develop and use technical documents including work packages and reports.
• Schedule, report, and brief customers and senior management.
• Perform quality inspections on finished products.
• Complete installation or work assignments outside of specialty.

Requirements

• High School education, Trade School or equivalent, and 8 years of related experience.
• Experience as a Shipboard Marine Welder (MIG and Brazing) with shipboard maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment and systems, ship drawings, and technical documents.
• Competent in the use of mechanical equipment and tools for repairs.
• Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
• Physically able to climb and work on ships in an industrial environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Confidential security clearance.
