Overview

The Structural Assembler position involves leading teams in the assembly of structural components for custom-built power distribution and packaged equipment systems.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job specifications to determine assembly requirements.
  • Measure, mark, cut, fit, and assemble structural components according to drawings and specifications.
  • Assemble structural frames, bases, platforms, supports, and other components used in custom equipment and electrical systems.
  • Work with structural steel materials, including C-channel, I-beam, angle iron, plate, and other fabricated components.
  • Use hand tools and power tools such as drills, impact drivers, grinders, measuring tools, and torque tools.
  • Drill, bolt, fasten, and secure structural components according to engineering and production requirements.
  • Verify dimensions, alignment, fit, and overall quality of completed assemblies.
  • Identify material, drawing, or assembly issues and communicate them to the Lead or Supervisor.
  • Follow production drawings, work instructions, quality requirements, and established manufacturing procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with material handling and positioning of structural components as required.
  • Work cooperatively with Structural Assemblers, Welders, Fitters, Electrical Assemblers, Leads, and Supervisors to complete projects.
  • Meet established production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
  • Inspect completed work for accuracy and report any defects or discrepancies.
  • Properly care for and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead or Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in structural assembly, fabrication, construction, manufacturing, or a related hands-on trade preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand basic blueprints, drawings, measurements, and work instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as a tape measure, square, level, and other basic layout tools.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • US work authorization without sponsorship required.
  • Ability to pass required physical, drug, and background checks.
  • Ability to physically push, pull, lift, and carry materials weighing 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and work in various positions for extended periods.
