Overview

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineering Designer – Level 3/4 for their Mechanical Engineering team in Chandler, AZ. The role involves creating design packages, ensuring compliance with standards, and collaborating with various engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Create drawing/design packages ensuring compliance with industry and military standards.
  • Review designs for fit, function, manufacturability, and verify completed work.
  • Conduct tolerance analysis and hardware selection on assembly prints.
  • Resolve interpretation issues on drawings.
  • Verify 3D models submitted to manufacturing using Siemens NX 1946 and Teamcenter.
  • Liaise with various engineering disciplines, Manufacturing, and Quality.
  • Supervise and direct the activities of staff as needed.
  • Model components and assemblies using Siemens NX 1946 and create/revise parametric drawings.
  • Utilize Word, Excel, Windows, and NX 1946 effectively.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and time management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related engineering design experience; OR a Master's degree with 3 years; OR a PhD with 1 year; OR High School diploma with 9 years of additional experience.
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Experience with weld design per AWS D17.1 and D1.1.
  • Knowledge of standard manufacturing processes including CNC Mill and Lathe operations.
  • Experience with Siemens NX 1946 and Teamcenter.
