Overview

The Welder position at Fabcon involves providing general construction labor as part of a welding crew to erect precast concrete panels. This is a permanent, full-time role with a focus on safety and efficiency in construction tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding and general construction labor necessary to erect precast concrete wall panels.
  • Complete welding assignments safely and efficiently as part of an erection crew.
  • Follow work direction provided by the detail or erection crew foreperson.
  • Perform additional construction and field duties as assigned by the foreperson.
  • Use materials and supplies efficiently and handle tools and equipment responsibly.
  • Follow all established safety policies, procedures, and jobsite requirements.
  • Maintain professional conduct and work effectively with crew members and other jobsite personnel.

Requirements

  • Welding experience required; AWS 3G and 4G welding certifications preferred.
  • General knowledge of construction practices; two or more years of construction or manual labor experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to carry out simple and complex verbal instructions.
  • Ability to safely work at heights, including from ladders and aerial work platforms.
  • Ability to obtain membership in a local union.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to travel extensively, including overnight travel 50% or more of the time, and work overtime as required.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work well with others and maintain professional conduct.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
